The Oyem Orphanage is located approximately three hours from Accra. It is the former capital of the country and has numerous scenic and tourist attractions, most notably the historic castles of Cape Coast and neighbouring Elmina.

The orphanage has a school located on-site. In addition to teaching, organizing and participating in child recreation activities or helping staff with their duties, volunteers can also become involved in the orphanage’s bread-making program. Proceeds from the sale of the bread go directly to the orphanage. Volunteers can assist in the baking, transport and sale of the bread.

Accommodations:
Housing accommodations are offered within the vicinity of the orphanage and are equipped with running water and electricity. Access to restaurants and other facilities including internet cafés can also be located with relative ease.
